Ford has breathed new life into an iconic vehicle at the Detroit Auto Show this past Sunday. Anyone growing up in the late 60's and 70's, as well as film buffs, know of the "King of Cool", Steve McQueen. The legendary actor embodied what it meant to be cool, confident and charming for an entire generation. McQueen was iconic, but his famed movie vehicles were just as popular, if not, even more so during his career.

The 1968 McQueen movie, Bullitt created one of those iconic cars in history. The Ford Bullitt Mustang that Mcqueen drove in that movie was a car that has been lusted after for decades. Ford has brought everyone's favorite car back for a limited time as part of the 50th anniversary of the film.

The audience at the Detroit Auto Show was surprised to see the iconic vehicle. The new Mustang Bullitt was presented alongside the previous iteration as well as the late actor's granddaughter. This is the third time the Ford paid tribute to the legendary vehicle.

The sleek 2019 Bullitt is based on Ford's most recent Mustang GT Premium. The car itself proudly wears a forest green paint on it muscular body dark five-spoke wheels with chrome rims around the edge and a crosshair-style Bullitt badge on the trunk lid.

Yet, do not worry if green is not your forte, they offer the vehicle in an impressive jet black. Interestingly, the vehicle does not include any of the traditional logos found on other Mustangs; a design idea definitely was taken from McQueen's understated car.

The new vehicle boasts an impressive 475 horsepower from the car's new 5.0-liter V-8 intake and exhaust system. The 2018 Bullitt comes with Recaro seats as well as the sought after GT performance package with upgraded suspension, brakes, and tires.
