This week marked the world's first premiere of Hyperloop Transportation Technologies (HyperloopTT)'s full-scale passenger capsule.
The unveiling ceremony took place in Puerto de Santa Maria, Spain on the year of the five-year anniversary of the founding of HyperloopTT and made headlines around the world!

"In just five years we have solved and improved upon all of the technology needed for Hyperloop with our new levitation system, vacuum pumps, batteries, and smart composites. This capsule will be a part of one of the most efficient transportation systems ever made," said in a statement Dirk Ahlborn HyperloopTT co-founder and CEO.
The capsule, called Quintero One, was built in Spain by artificial intelligence technology firm Airtificial. The impressive aerodynamic is made almost entirely out of a specially made dual-layer smart composite material (HyperloopTT's Vibranium).
"Working together with engineers from HyperloopTT, we are proud to be pushing the envelope of smart materials in transportation and manufacturing," said Airtificial Co-Founder and Chairman, Rafael Contreras. "Today we have unveiled a new type of transportation vessel built with an industry high percentage of composite, which makes the Hyperloop capsule perhaps the safest transportation vehicle in the world."
The pod's futuristic design was developed in collaboration with transport design consultancy PriestmanGoode and was most notably the Gold award recipient of the 2017 London Design Awards.
Quintero One has a length of 32 meters (105 feet) that provides a generous inner cabin length of 15 meters (50 feet). It weighs 5,000 kilograms (5 tons) and includes 82 carbon fiber panels, 72 sensors, 75,000 rivets and 7,200 square meters of fiber (1.8 acres).
The capsule is now on its way to HyperloopTT's research and development center in Toulouse, France, Europe's first such facility.
The pod will further undergo assembly and integration into the system before it can be used to carry its first real passengers as early as next year.
Ready for passengers
"In 2019, this capsule will be fully optimized and ready for passengers," said Bibop Gresta, chairman and co-founder of HyperloopTT. "Since we have taken major steps in solving government regulations with our safety certification guidelines and insurance frameworks, we are now closer than ever to bringing Hyperloop to the world."
HyperloopTT just last month achieved another world first by becoming the only company to have an insurable commercial system. "We have proven the technology to be feasible at every level and through our work with these partners, stakeholders, and governments we are creating the safest, most secure system possible," said, at the time, Ahlborn.
